Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the history and present of the feminist movement in Poland, the methods of feminist theory, examples of Polish feminist literature and Polish feminist visual arts. Further aim is to develop skills in analyzing and interpreting cultural texts using the tools of feminist thoery as well as to develop the ability to work with online databases of academic publications and the competence in critical reading of such publications.
Very good understanding of to the history and present of the Polish feminist thought, ability to independently analyse selected cultural texts using the tools of feminist theory.

Prerequisites

Very good language skills, which are a prerequisite for reading, analysis and interpretation of academic publications and literary works.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Class attendance (max. 2 absences per semester), knowledge of the subject literature, active participation in the discussion, presentation of current assignments during the seminar, final presentation.
