Course content
The methods of artistic translation are learned both theoretically and in the analysis and translation of specific literary texts.

Learning activities and teaching methods
Lecture, Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Group work

Learning outcomes
The course introduces the translation practice in Polish-Czech literary translation with examples of specific translated texts. Attention is focused on the analysis of selected phenomena related to cultural and other difficult-to-translate specifics and the way of their translation.
The aim of this course is to make the students familiar with the difficulties of translation in terms of cultural competence understood as knowledge of Polish culture and history. This segment of practical lessons involves work with particular translations in which cultural issues are important for the interpretation.

Good knowledge of Polish language and basic knowledge of Polish culture

Student performance, Seminar Work

Maximum of 2 absences per semester, continuous completion of all partial assignments, completion and presentation of the semester translation.
