Course content
|
The course focuses on expanding the vocabulary with several conversational topics related to everyday life and improving all forms of communication: speaking, listening (listening comprehension), reading (reading comprehension) and writing. The basis of the course is conversation on current topics, taking into account Polish realities (a.o. environment, national and ethnic minorities, stereotypes, politics, economy, religions and beliefs, law, crime, plans, dreams). Within the framework of the given topics, we will analyze original texts.

Learning outcomes
|
This is the final course in a series of conversation courses aimed at enhancing students' communication and language competences. The objective of this course is to discuss on selected topics, continuous vocabulary enriching with respect to the contemporary variants of Polish and background information about Poland. In the seminars, both Polish non-fiction and fiction texts are analyzed. The exercises accompanying those texts help students to enrich vocabulary, to develop their ability to process the text´s main idea, to discuss, to reason and to contradict. Audiovisual materials are incorporated into teaching process to help students to process effectively information.
Standard communication skills, knowledge of Polish grammar and vocabulary - level B2. The students are supposed to be able to express themselves individually and creatively during problem solving activities on a selected topic.

Basic communication skills and having successfully completed the preceding courses related to this one.
