Course content
|
The course focuses on developing advanced knowledge of Polish grammar at the B1+/B2 level. It covers more complex morphological, word-formation, and syntactic structures, with particular emphasis on irregular noun declension, numerals and their inflection, direct and indirect speech, the system of prepositions, syntactic collocations, and selected word-formation patterns. Special attention is paid to the practical application of grammatical structures in both spoken and written Polish. All topics are presented from a contrastive Polish-Czech perspective.

Learning outcomes
|
Systematic overview of Polish language structure compared to the Czech one, theoretical background of contemporary Polish linguistic system and practical exercises.
Standard communication skills and knowledge of Polish grammar.

Prerequisites
|
Basic communication skills. The course is not intended for students whose native language is Polish and who are not studying the study programs of the Polish Section of the Department of Slavonic Studies at the Faculty of Arts.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
80% attendance, good results in partial assessment tests, final test.
