The lectures focus on the history of Polish cinema from 1894 to the present time. The lectures are combined with screenings of selected movies. Thematic headings: 1. Polish film 1894-1939.The beginnings of cinema, silent film, sound film of the 1930s. 2. Polish film 1939-1955. The war experience, socialist realism. 3. Polish film in 1955-1968. Polish Film School. Written exam
Commentary analysis of two movies, 80% attendance.
