Course content
1. Formulation of research problem. 2. Research plan and its essentials. 3. Ethical aspects of data creation. 4. Quality of data creation, triangulation. 5. Basic techniques of data creation. 6. Participation observation. 7. Practical training of observation. 8. Types of interviews, basic rules of interview creation. 9. Rules of conducting research interviews, practical training. 10. Transcripts of interviews. 11. Analysis of documents. 12. Working with secondary data sources (internet, statistics, visual data).

Learning outcomes
The aim of the discipline is to acquaint students with techniques of qualitative research and creation of qualitative data. The discipline represents the basis of a qualitative approach, the basic framework, methods of obtaining and processing qualitative data in anthropology. It is focused on practical application with regard to realization of field research.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to choose a suitable qualitative methodology, prepare its design and propose a research plan with its partial steps. The student knows basic methods of qualitative data analysis, methods of data creation and evaluation, is able to assess the quality of research, reflects ethics in qualitative research and limits of qualitative approaches.
