Course content
|
The course is taught in Czech. The course covers such topics as history of Japanese society and culture, ethnic and national identity in the history of Japan, religions in Japan, popular religion, history of Buddhism in Japan, Shinto in Japanese history, minorities in Japanese history, family, gender, etc.

Learning outcomes
|
The course aims at introducing the students to key topics from the history of Japanese society and culture, through the perspective of Cultural Anthropology. The course connects the perspectives of history and Cultural Anthropology, covering such topics as ethnic and national identity, religion, minorieties, family, kinship or gender.
After the successful completion of the course, students are able to understand, explain and discuss selected topics in the field of Japanese society and culture through the perspective of Cultural Anthropology.
