Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to give an overview of the history of world, European and Czech Academic Study of Religions in the 20th and 21st centuries. Students will study the important scholarly works of contemporary authors, their approaches, discussed theoretical and practical issues, and gain an important insight into the history and the present field of study. Characteristic features of Religious Studies research in different countries and regions will be addressed, with special attention to the situation of in the Central and Eastern Europe.
Students will acquire knowledge in the history of world and European study of religions and also ability to discuss religious studies issues in English.
Prerequisites
The course is taught in English.
