Course content
|
During the seminar, students will present a scholarly text and then prepare a seminar paper drawing on that text as well as additional academic sources. A link to the reading list is provided in Moodle.

Learning outcomes
|
Ability to present and write a standard academic text. Understanding and application of academic writing procedures. Academic writing skills, including topic selection, source identification and evaluation, adherence to formal academic conventions, and linguistic correctness.
Ability to analyse academic texts, search for academic sources, present a scholarly topic, and write a sociological essay.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Oral exam, Essay, Student performance
Active participation in seminars, presentation of a scholarly text, preparation of a seminar paper proposal, writing of the seminar paper, and its oral defence.
