Learning outcomes
The aims of the qualitative part of the course are: 1. To familiarise the participants with current issues in qualitative social research; and 2. By means of a detailed analysis to achieve understanding of elements and phases of a dissertation project. Both aims will be related to the own research work of the course participants. This will contribute to their solving of practical problems encountered during the work on their dissertation projects.
At the end of the course, the participants will be able to identify among the discussed issues those relevant to their own research project and apply them. They will further acquire an understanding of the individual phases of a dissertation project and the relations between them. Finally, they will also be able to assess and analyse their own strengths and weaknesses in relation to their dissertation project.
