Course content
Practical application of functional styles. Emphasis is placed on pragmalinguistic phenomena and their translation into Czech. In this seminar, literary texts from the fields of fiction and journalism will be translated, where the use of machine translation is already very limited. In this way, students will practise their own creativity when drafting their translations. The translations will be carefully edited in order to achieve a quality that meets publication standards.

  • Homework for Teaching - 51 hours per semester

Learning outcomes
Issues related to the translation of literary texts, application of theoretical knowledge to specific problems, choice of suitable linguistic means according to style and function. The seminar is intended for students who have already completed Translation Seminar 1.
Mastery of the subject matter within the scope defined in the Course Objectives.
