Course content
|
In the linguistics, the emphasis is put on the mastery of all the levels of the current language, on various aspects of text linguistics and the theoretical and practical mastery of all the styles of written language. Attention is paid to the historical development and the formation of Spanish as a literary language. In the field of literature, students become familiar with the evolution of Spanish and Latin American literature from the early beginning up to the present. Within the study program, besides the basic subjects, students may select optional lectures and seminars in the theory of arts and the history of the given language area, translation and interpretation. Students complement their study programme, on the individual basis and according to their interests, with subjects offered by other departments of the Philosophical Faculty of Palacký University or by other faculties of Palacký University. During the studies, students may spend one semester at one of the eight Spanish universities cooperating with the Department of Romance Philology within Erasmus Programme.

Learning outcomes
|
The study of Spanish philology is realized in parallel in the fields of linguistics and literature. During the studies, students enhance their knowledge of practical language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries.
As highly qualified Hispanists, graduates of the master study programme should be familiar with research methods in the field of linguistics and literature. They should also perfectly master the Spanish language in all its forms.
