Learning outcomes
The course focuses on familiarizing students with the basic terms and concepts of stylistic text analysis (linguistic, literary, and functional stylistics, as well as pragmastylistics, etc.). Attention is given to the characteristics of individual functional styles of the Portuguese language and to issues of stylistic analysis as applied to texts of various styles and registers. Students are guided to create their own texts.
The students will be familiar with basic concepts of stylistics and with the approaches to this field. They should be able to analyse independently texts of different functional styles, as well as to produce basic stylistic units (business correspondence, CV, review, etc.).
