Course content
- Analysis and translation of business-related texts - Analysis and critique of community-focused translations, EU official documents, notices, and regulations - Translation of business letters, complaints, and claims; terminology, equivalence, and clarity - Editing and proofreading of official and business texts

Learning outcomes
Using practical text examples, the course explores various translation methods and discusses the use of appropriate functional styles, cultural specifics of the text, and textual pragmatics. Topics covered include the lexical level in language description, lexical meaning in translation, the cognitive approach, the rendering of specialized information, terminology, and terminology management in translation. - Analysis and Translation of Business-Related Texts - Analysis and critique of community-focused translations, EU official documents, notices, and regulations. - Translation of business letters, complaints, claims, terminology, equivalence, and unambiguity. - Editing and proofreading of official and business texts
Students will improve their skills translating literary and musical texts from Portuguese to their mother tongue.
Prerequisites
Advanced knowledge of Portuguese.
