- Practical application of translation theory, development of translation skills, and practice of translation techniques using texts of various stylistic levels - Issues in the translation of literary texts - Analysis of contemporary translations from Portuguese - Translation of journalistic, essayistic, fictional, and technical texts

Learning outcomes
|
The content of this class is translation and linguistic, and occasionally literary analysis of texts: - Practical application of knowledge of translation theory, developing translation skills, exercising translation methods on texts of various stylistic types - Issues of translating artistic texts - Analysis of current translations from Portuguese - Translating journalistic articles, essays, fiction and academic texts
Students will acquire basic skills in translating literary works in Portuguese.
