Course content
1. Pronunciation of Latin language 2. Verbs from the 1st to the 5th conjugation 3. Nouns from the 1st to to 3rd declination 4. Verb esse and compounds 5. Imperfect 6. Adjectives from the 1st to the 3rd declination, present participle 7. Comparison of adjectives and adverbs 8. Future tense

Learning outcomes
The aim is to get the student familiar with the Latin language in particular with a view to the application of this knowledge to deepen understanding of grammatical structures of the Romance Languages and their Latin roots. Students will learn the basic grammatical phenomena and the basic vocabulary. They should realize the link between the Romance language, which they study, and Latin; they should be able to use Latin-Czech dictionary and translate unknown simple text in Latin.
Students become familiar with the Latin language that will allow them to learn the grammatical structure of Latin and realize the relation between Latin and Romance languages. They will be able to use Latin-Czech dictionary and translate simple text in Latin.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Analysis of linguistic, Systematic Observation of Student

Attendance at seminars, homework and repetition, active participation in seminars, passing written test.
