Course content
The student will learn basic grammar and vocabulary of Portuguese. They will learn present and past simple tense, complete system of pronouns and they will practise basic conversation topics (family, food etc.) 1. Gender in Portuguese. 2. Personal pronouns 3. Definite and indefinite articles, zero article 4. Declension of nouns and adjectives 5. Regular verbs of the 1st class 6. The impersonal verb "há" 7. Irregular verbs "ter," "ter que," "ter de" 8. Possessive pronouns 9. Regular verbs of the 2nd and 3rd classes 10. Verbs conhecer, poder, abrir 11. Irregular verbs fazer, trazer, dizer 12. Indirect personal pronouns Conversation topics: 1. Me and my family 2. Professions, hobbies 3. Restaurants 4. Shopping 5. Home, housing 6. The city 7. Travel 8. Portugal

Learning outcomes
The goal of the course is to manage the knowledge of the grammar and vocabulary of 10 units of the textbook Portugalština (J.Jindrová, nakladatelství Leda). The course is finished with complex test which contains oral and written part, i.e. grammar and conversation topics selected according to the textbook.
Students will manage the basics of Portuguese language and will be able to communicate in the most typical everyday situations.
