Course content
The course introduce to the fundamentals of phonetics and phonology, informs about basic terms and phenomenons and acquaint in detail with vocalic and consonant system of today's Portuguese. The attention is paid to the differences between European and Brazilian language variations. Pronunciation and phonetic transcription are practiced as well.

Learning outcomes
The student should master the pronunciation of both European and Brazilian norm of Portuguese. They should learn the rules of phonetic transcription, basic terms of phonology and both traditional and modern approach to it.
Overview of the Portuguese phonetic system, improvement in understanding of spoken Portuguese.
