The course deepens the subject matter dealt with in preceding courses of the Brazilian literature for the bachelor´s degree. It will include study of the main aspects of Brazilian social and political history, which form the background reflected in the literary works.
Students become familiar with main trends in the evolution of the Brazilian literature since the modernism up to the present days. Students should become able to define main notions, basic notions for the given literary context and interconnect literary questions with culturally historical issues. Students should be able to classify the concrete authors within such context, characterise generally their works and analyse in detail the selected texts. Students learn to discuss the matter and independently approach the interpretation of texts.
