Course content
1. Historical development of working with a group, theories underlying the significance of small groups. 2. Group dynamics elements. 3. Aims and norms, group structure, positions and roles of group members, leadership role and group leading, motivation. 4. Group atmosphere, interaction and communication. 5. Group cohesion, tension, identity, conformity, development of subgroups. 6. Group development stages, group development speed factors, group typology. 7. Research methods used in analyzing group dynamics - sociometry, observation. 8. Group dynamics in outdoor sojourn courses based on programming methods. 9. Working with a group in terms of training interpersonal skills for the purposes of management and in the contexts of self-reflection culture for the purposes of personal and social development.

Learning outcomes
The main aim of the course is to understand the mechanisms and principles required for working with a group. - The course introduces the historical development of working with a group, theories underlying the significance of small groups, typology of groups and also the dynamics and structure of a group, positions and roles, rules of group functioning and various techniques of work around the basic axis of group work (self-experience practice). - Another aim of the course is the work with group dynamics in outdoor sojourn courses based on programming methods. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student understands the mechanisms and principles required for working with a group. The student knows the historical development of working with a group, theories underlying the significance of small groups and group typology. The student is knowledgeable about group dynamics and structure, positions and roles, rules of group functioning and various techniques of work around the basic axis of group work. The student is able to apply this knowledge in practical work with a group.
Prerequisites
The course is subject to successful completion of outdoor summer and winter sojourn courses (KPLP1, KPZP1) and basic knowledge of psychology (PSYZ).

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Seminar Work

Preparation, delivery and evaluation of a research method based on a auto-ethnography on a current topic.
