Course content
1. Ethos and éthos, the presupposition of ethical action (Abigail). 2. Philosophical axiology, values and decision-making (hierarchy of values; ethical dilemmas in the context of recreation). 3. Personality prerequisites of ethical communication (MBTI), practical demonstration of types in recreation and recreology. 4. Philosophical understanding of time (linearity versus cyclicality, the availability of human temporality). 5. The human relationship to the sacred (sacred and profane, religiosity and spirituality, the religious situation in the Czech Republic). 6. Mythopoetic experience and the transcendence of the scientific paradigm in a holistic view of the human mode of being; spiritual recreation and spiritual consumerism. 7. Transrational approaches to the world: the example of systemic constellations. 8. Transformations of the human relation to the sacred (history of religions) and multicultural coexistence. 9. The Bible and its role in our culture. 10. The Christian foundations of Europe. 11. Pilgrimage and journeying versus religious and profane tourism. 12. Spiritual health and spiritual literacy.

Learning outcomes
The course introduces selected themes of ethics and their connection to philosophical anthropology and the study of religion, the fundamental expressions of the human relationship and development toward the sacred, and the manifestations of religiosity and spirituality in the life of the individual and society. The course also has a practical dimension, for example in the area of religious tourism, the religious aspects of recreation, and related fields.
- The student understands the religious and spiritual mode of the human way of being. - The student comprehends selected concepts from the philosophy of nature and their connections to philosophical anthropology and the study of religion. - The student is familiar with an overview of the history, cults, and phenomena of selected religions and sects, as well as with types of spirituality and religious thought as a prerequisite for multicultural coexistence. - The student perceives the spiritual dimension of recreational activities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Seminar Work

- Active participation in seminars (maximum of 2 absences - each additional absence to be compensated by reading another book). - Reading of excerpts from selected sacred texts and other recommended literature. - Participation in a religious ritual + reflection on the experience of an all-night vigil = seminar presentation. - Seminar paper on a chosen topic elaborating one of the thematic areas, connecting the themes of ethics, religious studies, and recreology.
