Course content
|
Introduction to the teaching of the subject. Definition of the subject and basic concepts. Legislative position of banks in the economy´s system, bank systems. CNB, its mission and function. Position of commercial banks in the bank system: accounts, deposits, cash register service, payment and accounting connections, electronic banking, CP and payment cards. Scale of charges of commercial banks in CR and their use. Crediting - general characteristics. Credibility of the subject. Warranties and guarantee trading.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of this subject is to inform students about the principles and regularities of how the banking system in the Czech Republic works and to help them understand the bank products which can be used from the manager´s point of view in both business and non-business sectors. Students are informed about the mission and functions of of Czech National Bank (CNB) and the system of commercial banks, which offer the following within the framework of a universal bank licence: keeping an account, deposit services, electronic banking, domestic and foreign payments, incl. documentary payments, bank payment cards, stock business, etc. Special stress is laid on sourcing, i.e. forms and types of supplying credit and forms of financial needs arrangements. A new introduction to problems of banking, introduction to bank trading and practical steps of goal-oriented dealings with the bank as an institution is outlined. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of this course the student will: - Understand basic economic context of the mission and operation of the bank; - Understands the crucial shops, ongoing through the banking sector; - Can interpret in economic assessment of the creditworthiness of the entity; - A bank loan application; - Can apply basic banking instruments in practice.

Prerequisites
|
The course builds on economics and managerial economics. Students are expected to knowledge of economic concepts in the field of money and their circulation (macroeconomics) and knowledge of diagnostics firms (managerial economics).
