Course content

The course is taught by scholars dealing with theory of literature of Romance literature. 1. The specialisations of the theory of literature. The place of the literature in modern culture 2. Genres and forms 3. Forms of the poetry, versology 4. Drama 5. What the literature is like, modality of the existence of the literature. Tradition and evolution of the literature. 6. The fiction 7. Theory of novel, types of plots, chronotopes 8. Characters 9. Space; fictional world. 10., 11. Modern methods of research (deconstruction, semiology, phenomenology, archetypes etc. 12. Introduction to the philology and textual criticism

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course si to provide students with knowledge of basic theories of origin and functions of literature. Inner rules of the literatary text.
Knowledge of the basic theories of literary criticism. Competence to find and use the ideal theoretical elements while working with concrete text.
