Course content
Specialised communication in Italian and its terminological peculiarities distinctions. Horizontal and vertical dimensions of the sfere of specialised communication. Morphosyntactic, lexical, and textual pecularities of specialised communication. Popularization in Italian. Analysis of selected fields and genres of specialise communication (e.g., the language of medicine, law, economics)

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the characteristics of specialized communication in Italian, with the creation of terminology and the characteristic text genres in selected areas of communication. A focus will be on written communication. Attention is given to professional genres and their lingusitic peculiarities at the stylistic, lexical, and morfosyntactic levels.
A better understanding of how academic texts functionat the textual, lexical, and morphosyntactic levels. Development of practical skills in applying theoretical knowledge gained in morphology, syntax, and text linguistics. An introduction to the concept of genre in academic communication.
