Course content
|
- The professional (educational) style within the system of functional styles of the literary language. Basic features of popular scientific style. National language vs. English as the lingua franca of the professional communication. Italian in professional communication. Intercultural aspects in academic writing. - Genre, its classification. Genres which mediate the scientific and technical information (master's thesis, dissertations, scientific article and its constitutive parts, abstract, expertise, lecture). - The syntactic construction of scientific text. - Specialized vocabulary. - Articulation of the text (horizontal, vertical). Graphic subdivision of the written expression. Paragraph.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim is to analyse the communication process and text of the differential reference to written communication. Attention is paid to the professional style and its genres and to their corresponding structure in the stylistic, lexical and syntactic planes.
The purpose of the course is to strengthen the text and stylish competence of students. The expected output is the ability of the participants to analyse and to create professional texts according to the precise communication parameters.

Mark, Oral exam
Attendance at lectures and seminars, reading assigned literary and scientific texts, exam preparation, passing the exam.
