Course content
The aim of this course is to provide students with basic and systematic knowledge of contemporary Italian grammar. The student should be able to define basic grammatical terminology. They should also be able to use this terminology in exercises and an analysis of specific texts, apply it, evaluate observed phenomena and make adequate conclusions. At the end of this course, the student will be able to derive and explain rules of the discussed grammatical phenomena and identify digressions from the norm. The student will be able to explain their observations with arguments and eventually propose a solution compliant to the norm. Close attention will be paid especially to these thematic areas: 1. Gender and number of nouns and adjectives, 2. Possessives, 3. Tense in indicative, 4. Conditionals, 5. Personal pronouns.

Learning outcomes
The aim of this course is to provide students with basic and systematic knowledge of contemporary Italian grammar.
After the completion of this course, the student will be able to derive and explain the rules of the studied grammatical phenomena and identify digressions from the norm. They will provide arguments to support their observations and eventually provide solutions compliant to the norm.

Assessment methods and criteria
Student performance, Written exam

Active participation in class, preparation for each class. Written test examines the knowledge of the course content.
