Learning outcomes
The Italian Language Seminar 1, offered in the winter semester, is designed for beginners with little or no prior knowledge of the Italian language. The instruction is based on the textbook Al dente 1, which provides a systematic and comprehensive approach to acquiring basic language competencies in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. During the course, students are introduced to fundamental grammatical structures, vocabulary, and communicative situations that enable them to communicate effectively in common everyday contexts such as personal introductions, ordering at restaurants, traveling, and shopping. Emphasis is also placed on Italian culture and social customs, fostering the development of intercultural competence and a deeper understanding of the Italian language within its real-life context. The seminar employs a diverse range of teaching methods, including listening exercises, interactive activities, group work, and multimedia materials, all aimed at developing students' communicative skills and independence in using the Italian language. This seminar provides a solid foundation for further language education focused on the systematic and effective acquisition of the Italian language and culture.
