| Course content |

Roots and traditions of Italian song. Song genres, musical instruments, the relation between the artist and his audience. Neapolitan song. Song and socio-cultural evolution in the 60´s: Modugno, Paoli, Tenco, Janacci, etc. The turn of the 60´s and 70´s and the early production by Fabrizio De André. Further evolution in production by Fabrizio De André. Selected authors of the 70´s: Battisti, De Gregori, Dalla etc.
