Course content
A general introduction to the Italian dialectology: a comparative overview of the most peculiar phonetic, morphological, syntactic and lexical aspects of the different Italian dialects. Topics: Atlas of Italian dialects, the social role of dialects in the contemporary Italy, typology of the dialects, etc. The course is supplemented with the listening and text analyses.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to know the most peculiar features of the Italian dialects and to analyze the original texts.
Students will acquire knowledge of the phonetic, morphological, syntactic and lexical differences among the Italian dialects.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Oral exam

Active participation in seminars, preparation for every lesson. Passing the exam.
