Course content
|
A lecture and a seminar that follows provide the students with the basic knowledge about the theoretical issues of morphology with real examples and contrastive view along with Czech. The students get acquainted with the system of French morphology, the classification of the parts of speech, their forms and grammatical categories. The question of standardization is also mentioned. A special focus is put on French nouns and verbs. The lecture is in French, Czech serves to illustrate the corresponding comparative views or to explain the more difficult issues.

Learning outcomes
|
The objective of this course is to make the students familiar with the most important theoretical issues of morphology of French language. The students get acquiainted with the morphological system of French, the parts of speech and their classification, their forms and the grammatical categories. The question of language standardization and codification is also mentioned. A special attention is paid to French noun and verb.
The student, upon completion of this course, should understand the theoretical and practical issues of morphology and should be able to contrast the morphological issues with his or her mother tongue; should know well the structure of the individual parts of speech, particularly the structure of French noun and verb, and should be able to use the corresponding words in accordance with their morphological norm.
