Course content
This course will cover the following topics: 1. French literature as a part of national culture 2. Current edition policy, publishing houses, writers and literary awards 3. Literary criticism, journalism, cultural periodicals 4. Themes and topics in the current fiction 5. Contemporary French drama 6. Poetry at the edge of the century 7. Modern literary production on the boundary of tradicional literary genres 8. Paraliterature, "écriture féminine", autobiographical literature 9. From word to picture, sound and movement: the aspects of the current culture

Learning activities and teaching methods

Learning outcomes
The objective of the course is, in the cultural context, to give an overview of the current French literature and its development and, at the same time, to guide the students to an individual literary-critical analysis of the fragments of the selected major texts.
In this course, the students should learn the knowledge and skills in the following scope, which they shoul be able to demonstrate upon completion of the course within the assessment: - deeper understanding of the changes in the current French literature on the cultural and social background - the ability to interpret a text as a structure of meaning - development of the ability to lead a discussion on a specialized topic
