Course content |
The 2nd semester is dedicated to the translation of longer and more difficult texts of various functional styles. The students resolve the problem of the text translatability, functional, stylistic, cultural and esthetic equivalences. The attention is paid to social conventions, the knowledge of life and insitutions, false friends, intenationalisms and abreviations. Attention is paid to the quality of translation, work with dictionaries, questions of explicitness and implicitness, key words and combinatory features of words.

Learning outcomes |
The objective of the course is to provide a basic training in the translation, to acquaint the students with the principal translation methods and approaches and to point out the most important problems of translation.
