Course content
This course will cover the following topics: 1. Methodology of writing reports, seminar and diploma works. Types of academic texts, types of research, types of excerpts. 2. Stages in writing a work: choosing a topic, looking for the information (factographical research, analytical and synthetical phase of preparation), assessment of the sources, studying and processing of the data, elaboraton of the structure, concept, modification of the concept and final writing of the work; introduction and conclusion of the work. 3. Citation, praphrasis, plagiarism and copyright. 4. French bibliographical standards and uses. Footnotes and Works cited. 5. Formal aspects of the text (orthography and orthotypography). 6. Electronic sources of information for French phiolology.

Learning outcomes
The objective is that the student learn the basic methods of scientific work in humanities and the presentation of the results by means of reports, seminar and diploma works. The student will get familiar with the basic rules relating both to the content and the form of such works; he or she will learn to make a research and to work with the sources of information, to cite primary and secondary sources, to make references to them in bibliographic citations, with a particular emphasis put on the peculiarities of French philology, French use and orthographical and orthotypographical rules in French.
