Course content
The course deals with basic theories, approaches and principles of foreign-language teaching. Students become acquainted with the evolution of this discipline. The main emphasis is put on the modern trends in the foreign-language teaching. The seminars focus on the development of practical abilities. The students use their theoretical knowledge in practical activities, resolving practical problems during simulations of the teaching process etc. Seminars are interconnected with samples of real courses of French at the Czech-French section of the Slovanské gymnázium (public school) in Olomouc.

Learning outcomes
