1. Fundamental problems of Decameron?s structure 2. Characters of the storytellers 3. Narrative frames 4. Poetics of single days 5. Bibliographical research 6. Writing a paper 7. Discussion about the paper and its adaptation. 8. Finalizing of the text and its submission to being published. 9. Importance of the dialogue in Italian medieval literature. The course is supported by the project CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0179 Diverzifikace a systematizace postgraduálního studia na FF UP Olomouc.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to celebrate the 700 anniversary of Giovanni Boccaccio?s birth with a research oriented to the structure of Boccaccio?s greatest work Decameron. Each student will treat this topis from his own point of view, he will make a bibliographical research and under the supervision of the guarantor of the course he will write a paper to be puslihed.

Prerequisites
|
The course is focused to students with a very good knowledge of medieval literature and are able to read scholarly literature at least in Italian and English.
