Learning outcomes
The course consists of lectures and seminars dedicated to the theory and methodology of description, analysis and interpretation of modern French, Spanish, Hispanic, Italian and Lusophone literature in the comparative context of European and world literature. It deals with the problem of periodization of the literature in question, a critical assessment of the developmental tendencies and the formal and thematic archetypes developed, and finally, an introduction to the authorial personalities who significantly contribute to the formation of the genres and aesthetic specificities of the chosen literature.
Capability to use the knowledge of the evolution of Romance literatures to the research in the Romance literature which is the matter of specialisation. Capability to work with literary features in the all-Romance context.
Prerequisites
Excellent knowledge of at least one Romance literature. Excellent knowledge of at least one Romance language.
