Course content
Overview of biological disciplines. Characteristics of living systems. Selected topics in cell biology. Conformation of plants and animals. The main taxonomic category of organisms. Basic overview of wildlife. Organisms in relation to the environment.

Lecture
  • Attendace - 6 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
Overview of biological disciplines. Characteristics of living systems. Selected topics in cell biology. Conformation of plants and animals. The main taxonomic category of organisms. Basic overview of wildlife. Organisms in relation to the environment.
Student will be able to define living systems. He will describe of internal and external structure of plants and animals. He will obtain knowledge of plant and animal taxonomy. He will explain importance of living organisms in nature.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam

Use of PC, connection to the Internet. Participation in tutorials. Controlled self- study according to recommended literature.
