Course content
Lecture Topics: 1. The concept of the penal law, basic principles, the criminal law sources. 2. The scope of the penal law regulation. Criminal offence. The factual ground of offence and its traits. 3. The stages of the crime. Criminal accession. Penal law sanctions. 4. Criminal responsibility and protection of the officials. Corruption. 5. Offences against freedom, property and economic crimes. 6. Basic principles of criminal proceedings, agents of criminal proceedings, the process of criminal proceedings.

Learning outcomes
The subject focuses on explanation of penal law basic principles, the concept of criminal responsibility and sanctions within the penal law. More specifically, this subject further addresses the questions of criminal responsibility in the scope of public administration activities, e.g. criminal responsibility and protection of officials. Tuition includes the explanation of basic principles and process of criminal proceedings. The subject innovation has been supported by the project Support of Interdisciplinary studies and Study Programmes Innovations at Palacký University in Olomouc, CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students who have completed this subject will gain knowledge necessary for correct defining of specific elements of crime and qualifying of criminal liability, especially in public administration.
Prerequisites
Completion of this subject is not conditional upon completion of another subject.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark

The subject is completed by the written exam. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
