The subject represents the basic subject forming the third pillar of the study program focused on the development of professional skills and general competence of the student, namely the ability of the student to present acquired knowledge and skills in scientific text and scientific forum. The course is conceived as a four-semester, with the advancing semesters increasing the demands of fulfilling students within the course. The course is designed for students of the specialization Criminal Law. The second semester is fully focused on the student's ability to present the results of his / her scientific research at a scientific conference. During the semester, the student is obliged, in cooperation with his / her supervisor, to choose a topic for his / her scientific contribution (to identify the problem to be solved) and to prepare his / her scientific contribution for presentation at a scientific conference. Active participation in the conference also includes a written copy of the paper and its publication in the conference proceedings. In case the conference proceedings are not prepared, it will be possible to waive this obligation in agreement with the supervisor. At the same time the student will continue preparing his / her dissertation during this semester. For successful completion of the course the student is obliged to elaborate and submit to the supervisor detailed theses of the dissertation in the extent of at least 10 standard pages.
Students who have completed this course will gain the knowledge necessary to understand the features of law.

Prerequisites

Completion of this course is conditional upon the completion of the courses Philosophical and Methodological Foundations of Law I., II. and Scientific and Pedagogical Propedeutics I., II. and Scientific Activity and Preparation of a Dissertation in the Field of Criminal Law I.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Fulfillment of the conditions of the course, which are passive participation in the scientific conference and submission of detailed literature search for the dissertation. The conditions are the same for students of the combined form of study.
