Summary: The course offers an overview of the basic knowledge in the area of stress and mental hygiene. The course emphasises the importance of the rules of mental hygiene in professional and personal life. Objectives: Upon completion of the course the students will be able to: - Explain the basic concepts (mental hygiene, mental health, stress, stressor, burnout syndrome, coping, etc.), - Identify the main stressors, - Diagnose the symptoms of stress and burnout syndrome, - Choose appropriate coping strategies, - Implement effective preventive measures in professional practice and personal life. Topics: Mental hygiene and its importance, mental health, stress, stressors in the school environment, stress response, coping strategies, consequences of long-term stress, burnout syndrome, prevention of stress and burnout syndrome in the occupational and non-occupational dimension on the personal, social and institutional levels.
