In the course of this subject, students will be acquainted with basic psychological terms from the fields of Social and Educational psychology. The following topics will be introduced in the Educational psychology: learning, thinking and motivation, assessment of students by their teachers in the form of standardized testing or teacher-made assessment strategies. Among other topics discussed withing this area of interest: communication in the school setting, as well as very important topic on student diversity. The teacher profession has been transforming over the years and will get proper attention during our lecture time. As far as social psychology, we will explore topics relating to the process of socialization of an individual. We will discuss interpersonal perceptions, attitudes and social groups. Topics: " The ever-changing teacher profession " The learning process " Student diversity " Student motivation " The nature of classroom communication " Facilitating complex thinking " Classroom management and learning environment " Teacher-made assessment strategies and standardized and other formal assessments " Explain the process of socialization of an individual. " Understand the dynamics present in interpersonal communication. " Understanding different dynamics taking place in various social situations and within social groups. Ability to define the characteristic steps in the formation of a structure and dynamics of small social groups.
