  • Semestral Work - 15 hours per semester
Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to introduce to the students the biomechanical principles of physical activity in individuals with various types of disability that often differ from the principles applicable to intact population. Multi-lesson blocks of this course cover issues relating to basic locomotion activities, their conditions and events occurring in the motion system. The course also includes a more detailed presentation of biomechanical methods and their application in addressing practical tasks. Information about this course was translated to English within the project Internationalization of the Faculty of Physical Culture, Palacký University, Olomouc, No. CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0028, co-funded by the European Social Fund and the Government of the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course the student is able to: describe the differences in basic locomotion in various population groups; explain the biomechanical principles of selected aids in groups of individuals with specific needs; upon consultation select adequate biomechanical methods for the movement analysis.
Prerequisites
Completion of elementary Biomechanics course within Bachelor's study.
