Course content
Basic themes: 1. Methods of human cognition. 2. Basic terminology of pedagogical methodology. 3. Quantitatively and qualitatively oriented researches. 4. Phases of quantitative research. 5. Formulation of empirical research problem. 6. Hypotheses and rules for their formulation. 7. Selection of elements for research samples. 8. Ex-post-facto research and experiments. 9. Qualitative research in educational sciences. 10. The most frequent methods and techniques of data collection in quantitatively oriented researches. 11. Ethics of research work.

Aims of the subject / students will be able to: Name and characterize the methods of human cognition, Define the basic concepts of pedagogical methodology, Explain and describe the differences between quantitatively and qualitatively oriented research, Formulate research problems, questions and hypotheses, Develop a quantitative research process, Describe and characterize quantitative research in educational sciences, Describe the most frequent methods and techniques of data collection in quantitatively oriented researches, Characterize the ethics of the research work.

Full-time study: didactic test (credit), continuous fulfillment of tasks assigned at seminars, self-study - continuous preparation for follow-up seminars and didactic test). Requirements for Students with an Individual Study Plan: 1. A minimum of 20% attendance at seminars. 2. Submission of a summary for each module. 3. Mandatory participation in the final exam.
