Basic themes: 1. Quality management. Definitions of the basic terms 2. Traditional management vs. quality management 3. Quality management systems in education at particular school levels 4. External and internal quality assessment in education 5. World and European standards for quality in education 6. Czech standards for quality in education. Framework education programs. National accreditation authority. 7. Types of study subjects and study programmes evaluation 8. The role of students in the quality management process 9. Tools for teachers to improve the quality of teaching process 10. Influence of related activities and support tools on the quality of education 11. The impact of linking educational and research activities on the quality of education 12. Practical exercise - evaluation of selected study subject/study program

Learning outcomes
|
Aims of the subject / students will be able to: Name the most comment quality management systems. Explain the difference between traditional management and quality management. Compare the impact of results from external and internal quality assessment in education. Explain the differences among the World, European and Czech standards for quality in education at particular levels of schools. Describe the basic principles of study programs and study subject's evaluation. Use the chosen tools for improving the quality of teaching. Evaluate the study subject/study program according the criteria.

Presumed competencies: Student has a sense of quality work in education Student has basic professional skill of study subjects and study programs creating according to the quality criteria (in the Czech, European and world context) Student has basic professional readiness in the field of study subjects or study programs assessment Student is able to complete an evaluation of the study program Student is able to work with tools to improve the quality of education
