Basic themes: 1. Marie Montessori system. 2. Waldorf School and its founder Rudolf Steiner. 3. Summerhill School. 4. Freinet School. 5. Jenaplan School. 6. Dalton Plan/Dalton School. 7. Integrated thematic teaching. 8. Forest kindergarten. 9. Innovative approaches of some teachers (B. Nikitin, R. Feuerstein?). 10. Current alternative schools in the world. All other information about the course can be found at the beginning of the semester in which the course is scheduled, in the LMS MOODLE system for the course.

Aims of the subject / students will be able to: Define different categories of traditional, alternative and innovative school / school systems. Recognize and characterize elements of alternative school systems. Recognize and characterize basic principles of alternative schools. To project the teaching of alternative methods in an innovative approach to the traditional school.

|
Upon completion of the subject the students will be able to: Define the concepts and context of alternative and traditional schools and systems. Characterize schools with elements of alternative school systems. Define the criteria of basic alternative school systems. Suggest alternatives of solutions, respond appropriately to the requirements of educational reality. Design a teaching unit in alternative systems.
