Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to help students of the doctoral study program Education to understand the historical context of selected pedagogical problems and their historical changes. The course leads students to the ability to analyze specific educational categories with regard to their historical-educational embeddedness in the modern discussion. Students will be able to view pedagogical concepts in general and postulates of the theory of education in the context of the historical-pedagogical discussion.
After completing the course, the student will be able to: - understand the wider historical connotations of the topic of his dissertation thesses - reflect current approaches to the issue as a result of the process of its historical changes - accept the possibilities of alternative approaches to the given issue
Prerequisites
A prerequisite for the participation of a DSP Pedagogical student is her/his concept of her/his future dissertation theses. The subject is especially suitable for students whose thematic focus of the future dissertation theses has broader historical connotations.

Assessment methods and criteria

The basic requirement for successful completion of the course is to prepare a scientific study focused on the issue of the broader historical context of the student's chosen topic of his future dissertation theses. The study can then be published as an output of scientific research activity or as part of his future dissertation theses. When choosing a topic for a professional study, students are advised to contact the guarantor of the subject and consult with him about possible thematic focus and methodological processing.
