Course content
What is Sociology? What is Society? Traditions of Sociological Thought. Sociological Thought of 20 century. Logic of Sociological Inquiry. Socialization, Socialization Process, Agents of Socialization. Family and Marriage. Social Groups and Formal Organizations. Social Structure of Society and Social Interaction. Culture and Subcultures. Social Control.

Learning outcomes

This is an introductory course in Sociology, starting with an overview of the nature of the discipline, followed by a survey of various aspects of the structures and dynamics of social life. General and specific examples are used to illustrate how thinking sociologically adds to our knowledge of world around us.
