Topics: Basic problems of the theory of pedagogy, Education as the basic concept of pedagogy, Education as a social phenomenon, Education and human development, Objectives and content of education, Educational process, Educational institutions, Selected problems of the theory of pedagogy.

Learning outcomes
|
To present to the students the basic pedagogical principles, beliefs, and domains as the basic pedagogical disciplines. Upon completion of the course the students will be able to: interpret the basic pedagogical phenomena and principles and explain these pedagogical phenomena and principles with understanding and in context.
Basic knowledge of pedagogy in the context of secondary school curriculum.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Students' participation in seminars: Participation in the seminars is mandatory. The required attendance is 75%. In the case of illness or other serious reasons, a 50% attendance may be accepted. In this case, the teacher will assign the student a paper in which the student shall demonstrate understanding of the learning content covered during the student's absence.
