Course content
|
Topics: " Significant theories of education - their reflection in contemporary educational systems (Contemporary theories of education - personalistic theories, social theories and academic theories, technological, constructivist, etc.). " History of education from the perspective of changes in the basic categories of pedagogical theory and practice (Ancient ideal of education - paideia, agogé, man as zoon politikon, Medieval concept of education - educatio x erruditio, man as imago Dei, education and training in the Renaissance, education as part of the general reform of human affairs (J.A.Komenský), education in the period of Enlightenment rationality), " Changes in the school system and teacher training in the Czech lands. All further information about the course can be found at the beginning of the semester in which the course is scheduled, in the LMS MOODLE system for the given course.

Learning outcomes
|
After completing the course, students should be able to understand and analyze selected theories of education and, based on them, develop their own theory of education. The fulfillment of the main objective is conditional on the fulfillment of the following sub-objectives: - define the basic theories of education and training (theories of education), - explain the developmental trends of theories and practices of education and their transformations in contemporary (historical) contexts. - analyze and reconstruct the basic concepts of teacher training in the context of the historical development of pedagogy, - explain the intellectual structure of individual contemporary patterns of thinking about education - anthropological ideas about human beings, philosophical, sociological, and theological definitions of the goals of education.
