Course content
|
Communication in the life of a person. Types of non-verbal communication. Perception. Verbal communication amd the art of speaking. Active listenings. Paralinguistic utterances and deciphering them. Communication in human relations. Effective and ineffective communication. Fighting off stage fright.

Learning outcomes
|
Students should be able to explain the concept of communication and reason its importance in current society, to name and specify particular types of communication and analyze rules that support efficient social communication. At the same time they should posses skills to apply gained knowledge when assessing their own performance and setting aims in this area for further development. Through simulated situations, practical part of instruction should help students to gain feedback on their own performance thus to improve their verbal and nonverbal abilities as well as their manner.
Preparing to work in a helping profession, the development and cultivation of communicative skills, training, empathic communication.
